Competitor intelligence · B2B software

They changed their pricing on a Tuesday. You found out in October, from a deal you lost.

Undercut reads your competitors' public pages every week — pricing tiers, homepage promise, new features, customer logos — compares them to last week, and writes the line that actually matters: what the change just handed your sales team.

The baseline is a real report on your three competitors, with their real prices. You run it yourself in a few minutes, and it is yours to keep whether or not you subscribe.

Change detectors stop at the diff.

A page-watcher has existed for fifteen years and costs $9 a month. It tells you something moved. It has never once told you what to do about it.

What a change detector sends you

Pricing page changed — 3 lines differ.

What Undercut sends you

They just moved SSO from Pro to Enterprise. Your prospects on Pro who need SSO go from $49 to $199 a seat. That is your opening.

Proof, not a promise

A real report. Published. Read it before you talk to us.

On 26 August 2026 we ran three privacy-first analytics vendors through Undercut. Nothing here is staged — these are their public pages, read the way any of their visitors reads them. Below is the report, abridged.

simpleanalytics.com/pricing

Plausible keeps a “contact us” tier, while Simple Analytics publishes every price.

A quote-only tier means the top of the grid is negotiated. Buyers who refuse a call before they see a number will filter those vendors out — that is a lane, if you want it.

Their paid entries are not quoted in the same unit: €9/month at Plausible, $45/month at Fathom, £20/month at Simple Analytics.

When entry prices count different things, buyers cannot rank vendors on a number — they rank them on how fast they can work out their own bill. Ask what the other vendor is counting before anyone compares two figures that never described the same thing.

The full report also lists every page watched, its address, and the ones we did not touch — with the reason.

Every Monday, in your inbox

Four things move on a competitor's site. We watch all four.

01

Their pricing grid, tier by tier

Name, amount, currency, billing period, what each tier includes, even the button label. A renamed tier reads as a rename — not as a deletion plus a creation. A build ID that changes produces nothing at all.

02

The sentence at the top of their homepage

Headline and subhead, week over week. Positioning shifts before pricing does, and it shifts where everyone can see it. Read three competitors' headlines in a row and the words nobody uses are your open ground.

03

New features, and the logos they show

What lands on their feature pages, and which customers they start — or stop — naming. The logos a company chooses to display are the deals it wants to be compared to.

04

The reading — and it is half the product

Every change gets three things: the fact, what it means for your prospects, and usually a move to make this week. That is the part you forward to your VP Sales without rewriting it.

Same-day alerts on Watch 10

A pricing page that changes on Wednesday reaches you on Wednesday.

Weekly is the rhythm. Major moves — a tier added, a price raised, a feature pushed up the grid — do not wait for Monday. The alert names the change and the argument in the same message.

Two pricing grids side by side; a red marker bar strikes a row in the left grid and a red arrow moves it down a tier in the right grid

The red line

Public pages only. No account. No workaround.

Everything in your report is something any of your prospects could read this afternoon. That is not a limitation we apologise for — it is what makes the report safe to circulate inside your company.

  • robots.txt is parsed and obeyed — longest-match rule, Allow wins on ties, wildcards handled, checked again at every redirect hop.
  • If robots.txt is unreachable, we abstain. The doubt goes to the site, not to us.
  • A user agent that names itself — UndercutBot/1.0 — with their crawl-delay respected and never more than one pass per page per week.
  • No login, no cookie kept, nothing behind a paywall.
  • The report says what it did not read, and why. A page that disallows us is listed as not watched.

Your legal team will ask. The answer fits in one sentence: we read only what any of your prospects can read, and we obey their robots.txt.

An open padlock set aside next to a document page stamped in red — nothing was forced open
Verified against live sites: where a robots.txt refuses us — LinkedIn and Facebook do — we stop, and your report says so.

Pricing

Two plans. Both start with a free baseline.

Monthly, cancel whenever. The price is on this page for the same reason we put a whole report on it: you should be able to decide without a call.

The free baseline

Paste three competitor URLs. Get the report.

Not a demo, not a slide deck. A real Undercut report on your three competitors — their tiers, their promise, their logos, and what the comparison says — read and written before you have paid anything.

How it goes

  1. You open an account and paste three competitor URLs. No card.
  2. We find their pricing, features and customers pages and read them — minutes, not days.
  3. The report lands in your inbox with a link your team can open without an account.
  4. If it is useful, week two is €149. If not, you keep the report.

One condition, and it is a hard one: your prices and theirs must be published. No public grid on either side, and there is nothing honest to compare.
